What to expect
Choosing the right therapist can be quite daunting. For this reason it is important to have an initial Introductory and Exploratory session. This will give us the opportunity to discuss your requirements and to establish whether we are comfortable working together. Sometimes a second meeting may be necessary before deciding to commit to regular therapy.
The focus is on you and your unique way of experiencing the world around you.
You will be leading the pace and the direction of the sessions. Together we will review our work periodically to ensure that your needs are met.
Because of the deep work involved, psychodynamic therapy is more suited for long term and open- ended therapy. However I also offer a more focused and short term (12-16 -24 weeks) therapy if requested and when suitable.
If you decide that you would like to start your counselling sessions with me, we will arrange a day and a time when we will meet regularly.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are at the same time on the same day every week. The regularity of the sessions is important to establish the boundaries of the relationships, and, more importantly, to make you feel secure in the space provided.
